VALÈ

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Clive McLachlan, founding member and Member No. 1 of Blue Liners Australia. Clive was a greatly respected member of our club, a valued colleague and a friend to all. His passing is a profound loss to our Blue Liners family.

Clive holds a special place in our history. In 1992, a group of police and friends rode their motorcycles to Tamworth. That first ride became an annual tradition and laid the foundations for Blue Liners Australia. Clive, then an Assistant Commissioner, was instrumental in those beginnings alongside Chief Inspector Gary Middleton and Sergeant Ray Robinson.

More than three decades later, the friendships and fellowship that grew from those early rides remain at the heart of our club. As we remember Clive, we acknowledge both his contribution to establishing Blue Liners Australia and the lasting friendships he shared with so many members. He will be deeply missed and warmly remembered.

On behalf of all members, we extend our sincere condolences to Clive’s family, loved ones and friends.

Clive’s funeral service will be held at:

St Mary’s Catholic Church
Woodford Street, Maclean
Friday, 13 November 2026, commencing at 2.30 pm

Members who are able to attend are encouraged to join together to pay their respects and farewell our founding member.

To allow members to attend the funeral, Boydie’s ride scheduled for that date has been postponed.

Rest in peace, Clive. Thank you for your friendship and for helping build the club we share today.

Christmas in June - Walcha 2026!

27 June, 2026.

Blue Liners Western enjoyed a strong ride to Walcha, meeting up with National President Harley Willox and fellow members at the Walcha Motel for a great weekend of club fellowship. Saturday evening saw the group gather for Christmas in June at the Commercial Hotel, with plenty of laughs, good company and support from members who rolled out and stepped up for the event. On Sunday morning, riders came together again at the Walcha Royal Cafe & Accommodation before heading for home. Attendance was up 300% on last year’s event, a terrific result and a credit to the organisers, riders and supporters who made the weekend such a success.

NATIONAL MEMORIAL RIDE MARCH 2026

Twenty-five Blue Liners Australia members, with the north coast crew rolling in as well, saddled up and headed out to Coolah on the 14th March for the National Memorial Ride. It was nothing too flash—just a steady run northwest from the metro area, about three-fifty k’s, with the bikes humming along and the weather playing fair. A mix of serving coppers, retired ones and a few mates, all keeping it low-key, rolling in together just remembering mates. No fuss, no fanfare, just the sort of thing the club does every year to hold the line.

Once they got there the day settled into a quiet sort of respect. A few words were said, and that was about it—straightforward as you’d expect from a bunch of blokes who’ve seen enough not to need the drama. The ride back was much the same, easy miles and a bit of yarn along the way. Good on ’em for turning up again; these things matter more than most folk realise.

History of Blue Liners Australia

The Blue Liners Australia started in 1992 when a group of police and friends decided to ride their bikes to Tamworth. This run was so enjoyable that the decided they should make it an annual run and hence from humble beginnings the club evolved.

The main culprits were then Assistant Commissioner Clive McLachlan, Chief Inspector Gary Middleton and Sgt Ray Robinson (vale).  It is to these men that we say thank you for the foundation work put into this great club.
